Week 1: Going solo: Bagofti, Horsemeat and Cameo Cookie IGTVFacebookYouTube
Pre-recorded

Our first week focused on Gary Clarke Company's solo performances:

- Bagofti: A one man solo show that delves deep into the bold, austere and highly expressive art work of iconic figurative painter Francis Bacon. Part dance, part sculpture, this short and work is a mesmerising display of sheer physicality.

- Horsemeat: Set against a backdrop of popular music, Horsemeat plunges head first into a nightmarish playground of frantic movement and thriving gestures in an all singing, all dancing autobiographical solo.

- Cameo Cookie: The story of Anita Bryant, the honey-voiced American singer and hard-boiled beauty queen who campaigned in the 1970’s to crush the gay rights movement. A scintillating mix of movement and gesture, music, spoken word, props, gimmicks and a splash of irony.

Live sessions were hosted by special guests Gavin Coward, Eleanor Perry, Stuart Waters and Gary Clarke. Plus a live 'In Conversation' event with Hetain Patel.

Mon 19 October 2020
Week 2: Duets: Two Men & a MichaelIGTVFacebookYouTube
Pre-recorded

Our second week of live sessions focussed on duets, exploring Gary Clarke's performance Two Men and a Michael. A typically British, deadpan send up of stand up via the antics of Gilbert and George and Morecambe & Wise. Dressed to KILL, 2 idiots are locked in a constant loop of foolish shenanigans and thoughtless nonsense where something means nothing and nothing is anything. Quirky, sharp and incredibly funny, 2 Men & a Michael is crammed to the brim with genuine mistakes, snap shot moments and unfinished efforts.

Live sessions were hosted by special guests Dr Rachel Kirsche, Alistair Goldsmith, Emily Thompson-Smith, Tom Roden and Gary Clarke. Plus a live 'In Conversation' event with the much-loved New Art Club.

Mon 23 November 2020
Pre-recorded

Our third week explored Gary Clarke's award winning performance COAL. which explores the darker underbelly of the mining industry unearthing the true nature and body wrecking demands of a working class industry now almost forgotten.

Live sessions were hosted by special guests Beno Novak, PJ Hurst, Joss Carter, and Gary Clarke. Plus a live design workshop hosted by Ryan Dawson Laight and a Bingo night hosted by Alistair Goldsmith.

Mon 30 November 2020
Week 4: WASTELANDIGTVFacebook YouTube
Pre-recorded

Our fourth week explored Gary Clarke's most recent tour Wasteland, sequel to Clarke’s multi-award winning hit COAL, Wasteland looks at how two different generations coped in this turbulent era of radical upheaval as industrial Britain fell and a new subculture emerged.

Live sessions were hosted by special guests Rob Anderson, Emily Thompson-Smith, Patricia Langa and Gary Clarke. Plus a live design workshop hosted by Ryan Dawson Laight and an 'In Conversation' event with the iconic and acclaimed Test Department, an anarchic industrial band from the 90s.
